Health Care Network, Inc.

Health Care Network, Inc. is a non-profit agency providing free or low cost health care to residents of Racine County who are medically-uninsured and have a limited income. Services are provided at the Health Care Network office and throughout the county by health care professionals who volunteer their time, offices, and skills.

Some of the services provided

• Free or low cost medical and dental visits
• Free or low cost diagnostic tests
• Discounts on prescriptions
• Information and referral to specialists, community health agencies, etc.
• Spanish language interpreter

What we can't do

The Health Care Network cannot:

• Provide emergency medical services
• Cover hospitalization costs
• Guarantee same/next day appointments
• Pay medical bills

Eligibility requirements

You must meet these three requirements in order to use the Health Care Network:

• Have no health insurance, this includes dental and medical.
• Be ineligible for county, state, or federal health care assistance programs such as Medicare and Medicaid. If you appear eligible for such assistance we will direct you to the proper agency.
• Satisfy the Network's income guidelines

How to apply

If you think you are eligible to become a client of the Health Care Network, follow these procedures.

1. First, call us.

   City of Racine applicants contact the office at 632-2400 to find out when applications are being taken.

   Western Racine County Residents applications are taken each Tuesday at 156 East State Street, Burlington.  An appointment can be obtained by calling 763-4932.

2. Be prepared to describe you needs.
3. A staff member will interview you over the phone. This will take about a half-hour.
4. You will be asked to provide a statement of the last three months household earnings, so that we can verify your eligibility.
5. If you and your family are eligible, you will be given a contract that states what the Network will do for you, and what you must do in order to be in the program. Contracts are required of all Network clients.

Health Care Network, Inc. is governed by a local board of directors who wish to acknowledge the generous support of county-wide health institutions and professionals, community service agencies, businesses, and individuals.
