What is SIDS?

SIDS, stands for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. It is the sudden and unexplained death of a baby under 1 year of age. Because many SIDS babies are found in their cribs, some people call SIDS "crib death." But, cribs do not cause SIDS.

In short, the Best Sleep Position:

Make sure your baby goes to sleep on his or her back. This provides the best protection against SIDS.

An Alternative Sleep Position:

If you choose to use the side sleep position, make sure your baby's lower arm is forward to stop him or her from rolling over onto the stomach.
